Cookie policy.

The cookies we use, what they do, and how to change your choice.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on getmarriedinvegas.co.uk, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things, such as your choices, or recognise your browser when you come back. "Similar technologies" means other ways of storing or reading information on your device, such as local storage, tracking pixels and scripts that collect information about your device or how you use a page. In this policy we call them all "cookies".

Some cookies are set by us ("first-party"). Others are set by the companies whose tools we use ("third-party"), and may be readable by those companies on other websites too.

Our approach

We keep things simple:

  • We only use one cookie without asking, because the site needs it to remember your cookie choice.
  • Nothing from Google or Microsoft loads until you choose. If you reject, those tools don't load at all.
  • "Reject all" is as easy as "Accept all", and nothing is switched on in advance.
  • We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if we add something new that needs your consent.

The categories we use

Strictly necessary

These are needed for the site to work, to remember your privacy choices, or to keep the enquiry form secure. The law allows them without consent. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may not work properly.

These help us understand how people use the site, so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful, and Microsoft Clarity to see heatmaps and recordings of how people scroll and click (with anything typed into forms masked).

These help us measure whether our adverts work. We use Google Ads conversion tracking to see when someone who clicked one of our ads goes on to send an enquiry or message us on WhatsApp. With your consent we also use Google's "enhanced conversions", which sends a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address and phone number to Google to match your enquiry to the ad you clicked. We also keep a small cookie of our own with the campaign details you arrived with, so a later enquiry is linked to the right ad.

We don't use Meta (Facebook or Instagram) cookies or pixels at the moment. If we add them, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.

The cookies we use

Durations are the maximum the cookie stays in your browser. Clearing your cookies removes them sooner. Third-party providers occasionally change their cookie names and durations; we check this list regularly.

Strictly necessary

Name Provider Purpose Duration
gmiv_consent Get Married in Vegas (first-party) Remembers your cookie choices (analytics on or off, marketing on or off) and when you made them, so we don't keep asking 12 months
__cf_bm Cloudflare (first-party, on our domain) Security: helps tell people from automated bots. Only set if Cloudflare's bot protection is active 30 minutes
cf_clearance Cloudflare (first-party, on our domain) Security: records that your browser has passed a security check, so you aren't asked again. Only set if a check is shown Usually 30 minutes (set in our security settings)

Cloudflare Turnstile. If we switch on Turnstile, an anti-spam check on our enquiry form, it runs in a small frame from challenges.cloudflare.com. In the way we use it, it doesn't set cookies on our site. To decide whether a visitor is a person or a bot, it checks technical signals such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics. It's used only for security, so it's treated as strictly necessary. Cloudflare explains more in its Turnstile privacy addendum.

How to change your choice

You can change your mind at any time:

  1. Click Cookie settings at the foot of any page.
  2. Turn analytics and marketing on or off, or choose "Accept all" or "Reject all".
  3. Your new choice takes effect straight away.

If you withdraw consent, we stop the analytics and marketing tools from collecting anything further and delete the cookies we're able to delete from our own site. Some third-party cookies (on Google's or Microsoft's domains) can only be removed through your browser settings.

Using your browser settings

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Each browser explains how:

Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics, and you can manage how Google personalises ads at My Ad Center.

If you block all cookies, our site will still work, but we won't be able to remember your cookie choice, so you may see the cookie banner each time you visit.
